I'm Israel Chidera Edeh, a software engineer building full-stack products and AI applications.

I've spent 5+ years shipping production software: payroll at Deloitte, booking and payments for transport operators, and WeRunAm, the logistics platform I founded. I also build AI into products. At Deloitte, my AI document extraction cut manual payroll data entry by 60%, and I build LLM services in Python and FastAPI.

An internal payroll platform for the Tax & GES department. I built AI document extraction with Azure Document Intelligence that reads payroll documents and cut manual data entry by 60%. AI Gateway API

A FastAPI service that puts LLM chat and retrieval-augmented Q&A behind one stable API. It splits documents into chunks, embeds them, and answers questions only from the most relevant passages, citing its sources. When nothing relevant is stored, it says so instead of guessing. Built with retries and exponential backoff, timeouts, typed error handling and a 44-test suite.

Documents sent to POST /documents are chunked, embedded and stored. POST /ask embeds the question, ranks stored chunks by cosine similarity and keeps those above a threshold. If none remain, it answers "not found" without calling the model; otherwise the model answers from the numbered chunks and cites them. Providers retry 429, 500 and 503 responses with exponential backoff and jitter, and errors map to 504, 503, 429 or 502.

WeRunAm

I founded and built WeRunAm, a Lagos platform for market runs, errands, airport item recovery, and import and export shipments. Customers get an itemised quote before paying, then photo and video updates before dispatch, with a defined dispute and refund process, so customers can trust someone else to shop for them.

Intercity booking platform

A reusable booking website template for intercity transport operators, with online ticket purchase, real-time seat availability and schedule management. It is used by two operators and was associated with a 40% increase in booking conversions. I also built the charter booking feature on my own.

How I think about the work

Israel Chidera Edeh

I'm a software engineer in Lagos. Most of my work has been on systems businesses depend on every day: payroll at Deloitte, ticketing and payments for transport operators, parking management, and vendor management.

I started on the frontend and still care a lot about it: fast pages, accessible interfaces, forms that don't get in the way. Over time my work has moved further back, into API contracts, data flow, error handling, and the .NET and Node services an interface depends on.

Founding WeRunAm taught me to look at software from the business side, where a confusing checkout or a missing status update costs real trust. Alongside product work, I build AI applications: document AI like the extraction I built at Deloitte, and Python services that call LLMs reliably and ground their answers in real documents. I'm also doing a Master of Technology at Miva Open University.
