Intercity booking platform
A reusable booking website template for intercity transport operators, with online ticket purchase, real-time seat availability and schedule management. It is used by two operators and was associated with a 40% increase in booking conversions. I also built the charter booking feature on my own.

The problem
Intercity transport operators in Nigeria needed to sell tickets online, with seat availability customers could rely on.
T40's approach was one booking product that could be branded and deployed for each operator, rather than a separate site per operator.
Outcomes
- transport operators using the template
- 2
- increase in booking conversions (associated)
- 40%
What I built
- White-label booking template
- One Next.js booking website, reused across operators, with online ticket purchase and schedule management.
- Real-time seat availability
- React Query and WebSockets keep seat availability and booking data current without manual refreshes.
- Online checkout
- Paystack and Monnify payment APIs integrated with a Laravel backend for ticket checkout.
- Charter booking
- Built single-handedly for Intercity NG: customers request and book chartered vehicles online.
Technical decisions
- 01
One template, many operators
A single codebase serves every operator, so fixes and features reach all of them at once.
- 02
Push seat changes instead of polling
WebSockets update seat availability as it changes, which matters when several customers are booking the same departure.
